I have just called the SE Service Center in Hungary, the last info they know is Week 48 and 'maybe it's slated for January 2007'.

Sometimes I really want to flush my P990i down the toilet, but I think, I'll be just waiting...and waiting...and waiting... :S

The new firmware is already on EMMA server of Sony Ericsson :

Organizer: R4A13

Bluetooth: R5A01

The realising date was week 48, but it was canceled for improving.
If you are close to someone at Sony Ericsson Service Point he can update your phone BUT the update is still NOT for the public users.

How long usually after the EMMA is available that SE makes it available for public users?

from emma to public is quite variable... the emma release is meant for people inside SE and they tests these versions before they are released to the consumers....

so just wait and watch

The signal is pretty good where I leave the phone overnight, it doesn't matter where I am, the phone just drains from 50% downwards.

Another trend I've noticed that if the battery is anywhere below 15% and i try to make a call, thats it, the phone powers off and won't come back on until it is connected to the mains.

I've still not sold my W950i and have been playing with that, what I have noticed is that the software is very similar to my P990i however it has almost 20MB of free memory when turned on!

I'll see if the new FW sorts my battery problem, if not it is going back SE.

Just had my phone updated today at se service center. NOT f/w 4, but the one you all have. Just to see if it will be better now. So far so good

The pain is torturous... please SE... bring on the new firmware....

I can't stand the crazy restarts
I can't stand replying to SMS' and having the screen freeze for no apparent reason
I can't stand the slow UIQ3
I can't stand Opera crashing whenever it feels like doing so
I can't stand applications closing for no apparent reason (ie. the PushMail app - Exchange ActiveSync)
I can't stand seeing other friends using UIQ on Nokia mobiles and having absolutely ZERO problems
I can't stand myself logging on to this section of the forum every day - hoping that a glimpse of the new firmware would be spotted somewhere

The wait... the pain... is excruciating...
