I keep seeing a lot of people mention theres no standby clock. When the phone is in standby press the volume buttons on the side and it shows a white screen with the time on it. Is that not what your after or are you wanting something thats on 24/7 and drains the battery?

What people are looking for is the same functionality which was present in the K750 and K790/k800. Which is to have the clock showing with no backlight - just contrast light letters on the black background. This feature was removed in the w810 and there was a Huge outcry against removing it since it's been present as far back as the T68 phone... Someone mentioned that the screen on the K850 is different than the K800 although I'm not sure since both of them handle direct sun light very well which made me think that they are both transflexive LCD which typically can use direct light for contrast.

I know what you mean, but the true is that the display of the K850i is really diferent of my old k800i... It's seemns more darker... Example if you compare both you can see that the k800i have more brightness, if you put a white theme or photografh you can notice that, but at the same time K850i LCD have more contrast i think... you can notice using a dark photo or theme... I think that maybe the glass cover of the K850i have some kind of layer that makes it a little brown or darker... You can notice that in the standby clock of the k850i the background is a little yelow and K800i is 100% white...

I just updated to the R1DA038 firmware from SEUS but i am having a problem.
When i load up 'Media' it says 'loading %' when it gets to 11% it says 'indexing of files failed due to lack of memory. delete files to make room' so i delete some files and i'm left with 35MB free on my phone and 350MB free on my 2GB memory card but when i turn the phone off and try again the same thing happens.
I never had this problem with R1DA037.
Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?
Or how to downgrade back to R1DA037?
BTW I have the blue K850 from O2 UK
Thanks,
Gupster.

This may sound strange, but have you done a master reset?
For some reason the R1DA038 doesnt seem to kick in correctly until you do.
Its worth a try any way

A question to the people with FW R1DA038, who have problems with the battery:
Do they have problem also have problems with charging the phone and which provider branding they have?
Because, I have T-Mobile-Int and I can diagnose no kind of this problems.
Maybe this is not a FW-Problem, but a Provider-FW problem from one provider?
Whats your opinion?

things I've noticed with 038....
the indexing failed message appeared twice, I did nout and it seems ok now.
Megabass.... Suddenly it's too much - any tune with anymuch bass in it seems to be overloading the phone, even at low volumes
My guess is the same as before; they put cheaper components in for music and so had to turn down the megabass on earlier firmwares but when that attracted complaints they put it back again... not a prob really as I can alter with manual eq.
Camera... dunno if it's because I'm crap at pics, but I'm getting the opposite of the dark photo prob... if I take a pic of a person up front then it blanks them out too much... I don't like flash anyway so not much of a prob - it'd be nice to be able to take pics with the white light like old phones

I can safely say the camera is working properly now. Don't seem to be getting dark pics at all now. They're still not very good pictures though but I think thats just because I'm useless at taking photos.....
As for the Mega Bass. Never tried it on 037 but on 038, yes it is too much, I've just played a song on farely low volume and put Mega Bass on and it just went all distorted and crackly.
