I'm not sure on this is related or not but I encountered something similar once. I thought that the contents on my memcard had disappeared & I used a card reader to view the contents on a PC. I could see the contents on the PC & everything was intact. I did see a new file in the main directory though, I forgot what it was called but I deleted the file & I could access the contents on my phone again. This happened maybe 5-6 months ago when I was trying a bunch of "freeware" on my P9

i'm sure P990 will be at least 45k in authorized dealers when it comes out. that was the price of the P910 when it was launched.
