I think you'll struggle to find a brand new PC of any kind with XP these days other than second hand or maybe through Dell's business section
@Paul
It's nothing more than a blooming calculator, for god's sake!

No wonder it won't let you in the admin section! wipe it clean and stick Suse (NOT UBUNTU) on it! Or won't it let you do that?

@Cyco
Yeah i figured that much, it is just annoying that my budget doesn't allow for a notebook with enough ram to make vista a viable option, plus when i played with it a bit i hated it. It was like having a nanny on board with you, i also fear that there may be compatibility issues with my phone, camera, keyboard etc etc....
I actually found a PC via PC-World's business section for about £300

Really tempted in buying this one, although i've not had any experience with a celeron processor, so could someone just give a heads up as to what to expect?
As i said nothing too demanding will be thrown at the PC web surfing, DVD/CD buring, storing pictures, maybe using it for a jukebox for a few parties etc...
Anything i should keep in mind?

see that is what i was afraid of, i had a run in with AMD a good few years ago hated it, it was so slow. Moved to intel have been happy with them, but now given the budget constraints plus the availability of machines running XP i'm looking at a celeron.
I could get a dual core laptop with XP but that doubles the budget...damn vista!

For some strange reason my net connection will suddenly only allow me to access esato but no other sites that i can find? Limewire runs fine but nothing else i just get server not found errors? Anyone got any ideas? I've rebooted my pc and rooter several times and switched them off at the plug for a few hours and tried again but nothing?
I've checked all my firewall settings and i even resorted to doing a system restore to a few days ago when all was ok but it hasn't worked?

Is this windows XP or Vista?
If it's XP, try this (if you can download it on another PC or something!):
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
Although it could be a problem with your ISP's DNS servers too, my connection does this too occasionally.
