Might the Ai announcement have been cancelled when they got wind of the iPhone announcement? After all, the rumours about the iPhone were rife and the hype was immense.

No. Ai was ment for the 6th of january. iPhone was announced yesterday (the 9th) so that`s no relative to eachother!

simple logic tells us that the sofia is either as unready as the 3G-iPhone, or as tight+important as the iPhone-before-announcement
some leaks are deliberate, esp when they have anything to do with Nokia (and vice versa)

We have had phones before which had been sprung upon us without even the faintest leak - the K600i being a prime example.
I hope it is as you say and
is playing its cards very close to its chest with Sofia because it is an important phone.
Lots of people here are certainly hoping it will be worth the wait.

but i just cant see too much of a jump from k800, only cam and video.
if u look at k750-k800 change the junp wasnt huge, dont know why it would be for this.
but im hoping it is.
its been very very well guarded. something must be good about it.

Video blogging might make an appearance for the first time. I'm only guessing, but if video blogging does appear then some high-speed data connection - faster than 3G - wouldn't go amiss to upload those large video files?

just to let people know that production of a limited no. of sofia prototypes started yesterday in sweedish factory... these are probably for networks to test as there have already been some sofia prototypes produced before yesterday.
mass production is scheduled for early q1.
its up to you if you want to believe this.

Maybe you`re right. If I believe MY source, Sofia will be too 'complex' or whatever to be announced tommorow, but it will be ready for a announcement at/after 3GSM! Just keep my fingers crossed..!

will show it if it's far from finished, as they did with the P990.
The only reason they showed the P990 about a year in advance of it's release was to get UIQ3 going...
That is not needed now.
