I think if they want to use those names, they should rearrange or change the names to make it sound fancier. Like Xperia XZ Ultima, Xperia XZ Corona (from the word 'Crown'), or just use Xperia XZ Pro.
Sony always change their naming scheme every 3 years. We should expect a new naming next year.

As I suspected XZ1 is a huge flop for Sony. I don't know what they are thinking releasing that bazelicious phone in the last part of the year when pretty much all the companies already released their bazeless phone.
Hopefully this year with modern design Sony mobile will recover from their poor selling condition.

DACHA, sorry to hear this from you, it is corporate strategy not to play in volume market which Sony will not compete to Korean and Chinese makers at first place. Look how LG play out in last two years of financial performance when those solutions of risk it all doesn't return properly.
LMFAO, when some people still keep whining about bezel-retard thing, It kinda lack of vision maybe drunk or something I would guess? look again from what happens with LG today, bezel-trimmer since G3, end up like 10 out of 12 financial quarters with loss after loss. I really don't understand how these guys think/work for living.

Think of it in a different way, Sony has low sales so they need to solve this. First, ask why Samsung and Apple are the runaway leaders. Then, systematically make adjustments to solve the problem. I don't mean copy a trend, analyse what makes the leaders so successful and then change the product. Camera, performance, updates, design, UI are all on the list and so are bezels. The XZ1 has everything ticked but the camera and bezels so the logical thing is to change these. Having ticked all these, for Sony to really do well they need to make new boxes to tick through innovation. A complex problem simplified, you may not think bezels are important like myself but they actually are.

But have u seen complaints about other aspects of sony.
Actually there are some other aspects for sony to improve on.
Xperia z1,z2,z3,z4 all had very similar design.
Samsung s5 and iphone 5s had fingerprint sensors which released with z2.
Z3 didnt have fps, z4 didn't have fps. Sony fans waited till z5 for fps to arrive.
I think sony should revamp its design and focus more on marketing. Put on a telephoto lens and improve on low light photography.
And people comparing sony with lg don't forget about the bootloop issues on g4, lgv10 and v20.
I am currently using a v10 and its quite frustrating. That affected lg sales to a great extent.

Xperia are criticized everywhere for having extra large bezels. Bezeless design does not guarantee sales but having extra large ones when there are so many options with smaller bezels will guarantee lower sales. I can say for myself that the reason I skipped XZ Premium and XZ1 was the extra large bezels. Similarly there are many more people who would prefer smaller bezels...
Whoever like large bezels, good luck finding a good phone in near future having large bezels...
