True, as mentioned in the article
1) One is the already mentioned “Lens-camera” with RX100MII sensor and Zeiss lens.
2) The second model will feature a 10xzoom lens with 1/2,3 inch 18 megapixel CMOS sensor.
The RX sensor alone might not carry a crazy price but add in the optics and outside casing, and it might easily go up to $500, the zeiss lenses themselves for sony NEX are at least $900-1000 and this is without the sensor. So such an option will be for the minority. The second option seems more plausible and no doubt will be geared towards the majority with the sensor probably coming from Sony's cybershots, exmor R by the looks of it. All this is speculation on my parts and based off the current tech and prices from sony.
I'm looking forwards to this addon, although more so for the phone.

If the external lens will have a built in sensor, WiFi, NFC, IPU, etc... it's pretty much like a regular Camera...
Why not making this accessory + adding support to all their Alpha and NEX cameras ( those which support WiFi + NFC ) to be used the same way... using the smart phone as an external wireless display + controller...

Are we sure the 2 is the IR blaster? I mean couldn't it work even if covered with thin rubber? what if it is the Xenon and we were all fooled by Sony into thinking that the Xenon was absent??
