when does sony ever produce a soft case like that for their phones? they're usually made by a 3rd party who doesn't always cut out the right holes or match them up perfectly.

so, not having everything match up isn't really telling of anything. my guess is it's 3rd party and they are making the case to get a head start based on all the hype and interest in honami, designing the case based on proto images and guess-timations.

The case has an opening for the frequently used stuff. You won't see an opening for the MicroSIM slot, neither for the microSD. What you see is for the micro-usb only for data trasfer and charging. Not ever for the magnetic dock because you can't place the phone in the dock with case on.
This is from the practical point of view. If you keep the case full of wholes, then you limit the protection of the phone and the strength of the case itself.
On the otherhand at Alibaba site, you see lots of diffent scams, so take it with a pinch of salt.

@kurtdean
Interesting... especially the camera part... it really boots up fast (the small app impressed me!), obviously faster than the normal Z camera app... and the Z is quad core 1.5... so imagine the speed on Honami
And also this is early build so we will wait and see for new improvement! great finding
PS: There's the same SKETCH APP from Xperia ZU!!! Does it mean that Honami will have the same stylus ability from ZU???

@T-mobile
This is from the product page of the Magnetic stand fot ZU... which will be the same for the Honami (I think)
"Adapters in kit
Interchangeable inserts in the kit make it possible to use this dock with your Xperia Z Ultra with its cover or without."
So it will work even with cases on... probably official cases, but it will work nonetheless...

Just been reading the end of the 2011 rumours thread and Ricky_D said he was discussing a 21MP cam phone in development with a Sony R&D employee back then. It must have related to Honami.

It appears he was right all along.

I wonder what they're working on for release a couple of years from now. The mind boggles!

My opinion on the lens on sensor accessory that SAR posted, it's useless and redundant. I'm still force to carry two devices. If I have to carry two device, I rather carry an actual camera instead of an accessory that hooks on to my phone. At least that way I don't have to burn through the battery of my phone and have superior image quality, depending on my camera that is.

Great find! It's kind of scary how this leads to Honami's rumour.
