@aragorn even the gprs cc are dumb. I once asked them what speed will i get with the edge service they said 30-40 "kilobits." I told them that I was getting almost 100 kilobits, they said "then that's very good." After explaining to the them the difference between kilobit and kilobyte they still wouldn't budge, the pinheads.

@alan, why r u activating mo to upload ftp. Try using ftp on web sites like ftp2web.com or google for it. Btw, as you are a programmer in PHP.,have you heard of scripts like rapidget,rapidkill.

@gpkumar
From last 7 days, gprs speed is dropped down. Sometimes, pages take ages to load. That's y I activated MO. But today, the speed is decent. Yes. I have seen those scripts. Thay are easily available in W*re* forums.
@argon
I want a SIM from Kerala. Is the plan Rs.1500/year still available? If I take it to Karnataka, can I use it for one year without recharging in middle?

in comparison to gsnl and hutch gtel is cheap so far gprs is concerned, because gtel don't charge for net surfing and downloading from free sites whereas gsnl and hutch charge 2 paisa and 1 paisa per kb respectively. that means if you are surfing or downloading any thing even from the free sites it will become chargeable. so the gprs user(new generation mostly) always prefer gtel.
