GSMArena reviewed XZ1.
Battery lasts longer than XZ/XZs.
Closer to Z3.
Update: on PhoneArena there is a article of benchmark that might be the Ultra.
Code has letter H. I believe it means 2018.
6" FHD , Qualcomm 630. 16MP selfie.

This is interesting catch, if the next XA (2018) make switch to Qualcomm
Sony's now all in with them, hopefully get first slice of Snapdragon 845 too.
Also, my XZ with September security patch, has successfully installed 3D Creator already
yet didn't give a shot.

I'd rather see Helio P40 instead SD630.
P23, P25, P30 and SD630 are not that different from P20 when it comes to power.
P40 will be rival for the 660.
For example a phone with 630 can reach 69K antutu.
Example is Zenfone 4.
P20 achieves 62K.
In the end it is just small improvement.
P40 and 660 are expected to be as strong as the 810.

Can someone hook me up with the 3d creator app. I can only find the one require root, the one that was repackaged for other devices was removed from xda.

Is there any statistics on wich model from Sony/Sony Ericsson sold best? I am intressted in how well the SE Ray sold. At the time it was a little odd phone but very very good indeed. And i think, in todays trend with 18:9 screens, a Ray2 would absolutly kill on the market. Make it roughly the same size, maybe add a few mm so that a 4,5/4,8 inch screen would fit. Use the same materials, glas front, metal chassi, and a easy-to-grip back in plastic (or the "new" glas-fiber from XZ1 Compact). And use a somewhat tweaked but same design, there would be nothing in the market to compete with it.

I've been very supportive and understanding of Sony's design and philosophy but now that iPhone X is here with tiny bezels, I think Sony will have to follow or they will slowly disappear. I was talking to a friend who attended the Apple event yesterday and he compared it to the S8 launch. Some would say the S8 looks better but they didn't flaunt it like Apple did yesterday, they have these lovely bright wallpapers on compared to the starry sky on the S8 and in that sense the iPhone X did look great. Regardless of price, since Apple has done it Sony must follow. We video chatted and he put the XZP next to the iPhone X and while I really like the Sony design, it looked prehistoric in comparison.
I admire Sony for their desire to cram great quality hardware but they need to modernise. The XZ1 is actually a great phone with a lovely metal feel, curved edges and thin body but they need to improve on the screen. At this point nobody will give you praise for a thin device because that was a big deals a few years back so I would suggest that even if Sony makes a fatty device but can reduce the bezels then so be it; check out the Sharp Aquos S3 with the side fingerprint scanner and consider how you can have a stunning yet fat device. The next devices need to have next to no side bezel with smaller forehead and chin that retain the large selfie camera and speakers. Even if the XZ1 had the XA1 front design with all the high end components then it would be sufficient for the moment.
The other thing that has been bugging me is the new Compact. In the hand its nice and it hits that sweet spot but you feel like the screen is too small. Not only that, I expected more screen estate considering that its quite fat. Finally, the 720p screen need to move up to 1080p, it isn't nice moving down from the 5 inch X Performance 1080p screen to this tiddly 720p thing.
I'm a person who likes a bit of bezel for convenience and comfort but its time to trim them. I'm now in two minds about the XZ1 Compact, its the ideal size but I feel like I'm going to be annoyed with the screen quality and that they couldn't add more screen in there....and for the first time ever I found myself attracted an iPhone. Just to put into context the iPhone X is smaller than my X Performance with 0.8 inch more screen and higher pixel density, that is a very manageable size.
