i have a suggestion... since the S700i looks more like a camera than a phone, why not create another phone similar to the S700i with optical zoom? in doing so, it will be nearer to what other people want in a "cyber-shot" phone branding...

I must say the new K800 looks very promising. It has what I think is the best feature of the S700i and that is the QVGA screen.
No matter how good it is though, I'll always regard the S700i as the best SE have ever made. It really does ooze class. Swivel form factor ftw!

i'm still waiting for the S700's successor... W900 may be one, but it doesn't have the appeal of the S700. same as the K790; although both phones are better in terms of features, there's just something in the S700 that sets it apart from the others... maybe the scratch-resistant screen? maybe the looks of a digital camera? maybe... something else?

I have to agree. The S700i was a legend. It was beautiful - and so strong. Once i dropped it and sent it skidding across the street and down a drain. It was perfectly fine.
What I appreciated most was its stability. It never froze and was the most reliable phone I ever owned.

I have to agree with that, I have dropped mine on a concrete floor and watched it skid for about 10 feet, the phone was absolutely fine.
Also my S700 has never froze on me at all, I'm still using it today as my second phone and it's still going strong.
