great job your doing here cycovision
sent my pc to pc world, and sent it back without doing a thing, saying that its not thier job to repair the annoyings but to check for annoyings....
the main problem im facing, is in the 'my computer' folder, (i have a vaio) which reads compact flash, smartmedia and memory stick, but a few months back, the memory stick icon was replaced with 'removable disk' it didnt bother me that much that the name and icon ahd changed, but whenever i insert a memory stick, the files are listed under compact flash
any help?

@tempsonyfreak
The only things I can think of are:
1. Did you install anything just before the icon changed, like a sync suite update or similar?
2. Try right clicking on the 'removable disk' and exploring through all of the properties tabs for it. You might see something in there that you can change to get it back to normal and working properly.
3. Get the latest drivers for the card reader from the Vaio site. Even though XP supports card readers natively, Sony do provide their own drivers for their built in card readers if I remember correctly (or is it Advent?

)
@Max
Yeah, you should be able to install it again without problems but I would recommend downloading a fresh copy from the limewire site, just in case.
Then, have a look at this to show you how to stop limewires more annoying side!

I have limewire and webshots installed on my pc.
My Norton Anti Virus is upto date and have done a complete check of my system. Also did a disk clean up and defragmentation.
The specific nature of my problem is as follows-
When I double click any icon (for eg. say My Documents) the entire computer freezes for anthing between a few seconds to a minute or so...even opening files causes this to happen.
simple apps like MS WORD etc take atleast a couple of mts to open and during these couple of mts the pc turns into a zombie !!
Similarly editing any thing anywhere causes that to happen......
My PC is clean of any virus...
What could be the problem??

i would say the 120mb of ram. maybe your pc cannot cope anymore. i deffinately ass win xp machines should have atleast 256mb of ram. well mine has 192 but im upgrading soon. limewire shouldnt casue a problem but norton can be a bygger eating up your ram. try avg free and and another firewall. norton is the worst for eating up all your memory so with that amount of ram i would ditch it.
