I made a post somewhere comparing the M2 Read/Write Speeds vs the MicroSD Read/Write speeds and I had found that the M2 card format still came out on top.
I just cannot find it. And its on this very site

yes, I believe MS is a superior format compared to SD, but is crippled by magicgate (which makes the format more expensive).

(I posted the same thing at the W710 Discussion thread. Check below and let me know if you can help me)
Hi there. I'd like to know if one of you might give me at least an idea about the problem that I'm experiencing with my SE W710i (Unlocked - Firmware: R1JC002 prg CXC1250433_NAM_1_CH R1JC002. EROM: R3A016 /Camera Version: 3.0 / Java: JP-7.3).
Yesterday my girl and I were seeing some pics of our 4 months old nephew. All the photos were stored at the memory stick M2 (Sony original 512mb). The ms also contained 2 or three folders with music (mp3). In a second, when mi girl went to show the pics to a friend, all the pictures gone, all the music gone too!!!!. We decided to turn off the cell phone, remove the MS-M2, reinsert the MS-M2 and turn the cell phone on. Just after the startup screens, the cell phone shows a warning saying: "Are you sure you want to FORMAT the MS-M2? All information will be lost!!!" Also on the cell phone, trying to see saved pictures and/or media files, when I choose the Memory Stick tab, Says " Memory Stick not Inserted"
Weird thing. I've tried to read the MS-M2 using an USB card reader (Win XP SP2). When insert the MS-M2, the "Autoplay" window appears but closes a few seconds after. I'd like to know if the problem is on the MS-M2 or on the cell phone. An update may solve this inconvenience? SE service will be the best, right?
Thanks a lot for the help, patience, answers... and sorry for my "Engrish"

Questions:
1) SanDisk or Sony and where did you buy the M2?
2) Can you see the data (pictures, music) using the USB reader?
3) Original M2 or a new one?

@Juiniji
1) SanDisk or Sony and where did you buy the M2?
A: Sony, and it came with the cell phone (bought on eBay US)
2) Can you see the data (pictures, music) using the USB reader?
A: Lately, I've been experiencing problems with the card reader, I should try again, but the card reader even recognize the M2.
3) Original M2 or a new one?
A: It's the original one.
About this problem, I've been checking a little bit deeper on the forum and I found different tips about how to recognize a fake MS. Very useful information, really.
Thanks for your reply, Juiniji!!!!

there is corruption on the memory card (or it is failing). You could try and recovery with PC Inspector File Recovery (free download). After that you will have to format the card, then test it thoroughly to ensure it's not faulty.

I want to access my M2 micro on my laptop but I read that I need an adaptor or something, do they sell a specific adaptor for micros or can I use a Duo adaptor? (the only one I can find).

Just got a brand new PSP (white) with a 512 mem stick.
Went to format the stick and i got an error message
Sounds like a dead stick to me - a lot of the ones on eBay are fakes and this kind of thing happens.
