lo ppl,
first I wanna thank all of you guys who participated in the research, THX A LOT!
ok, now that's done, I wanna ask something. I've got a W810i vodafone branded, I am thinking of flashing it with davinci. But is it possible to remove the hiss on this phone, and if possible on that davinci firmware?

I was wondering about one thing.. can anyone crank up the volume on the earpiece speaker??? After R1L I think the volume on the earpiece speaker has gone down so much I can hardly hear it when the environment is noisy.. before it was ok.

hey all. i don't think you're gonna like this.
first off, many thanks to akshay for releasing these files. but i gotta ask the question, with what do you guys listen to your phones? i have r1bc + akshay's latest files + a pair of sennheiser cx300s and the second i push the walkman button it starts hissing pretty badly.
btw the senns are a must have for the price, seriously, they are a steal, i couldn't believe how cheap they were for the sound - think somewhere between an ex81 and low-end etymotics. the hpm-70 compared to it sounds laughable: hollow, very muddy, tinnish, no bass, very artificial annoying highs (much like the ex71).
and that's what i don't get: why would anyone need horrible crap like megabass? you obviously like the music you're listening to. you put it on your walkman, right. so, why mess up the sound the poor recording engineers created so bad?
wouldn't it be better if you had a phone that reproduced music the way it was heard by the artist when they created it? wouldn't it be cool to have your little walkman reproduce it as accurately as possible?
doesn't that make sense? i mean forget megabass, and all this eq crap, buy a good canalphone and plug it deep into your earcanal. and what's with finding a can "too sensitive"? is there such a thing as too sensitive really?

So i've been away for a while. I used the PHF_2_play.apf of R1L and all the rest of the R1BC files. Hissing was still there, but at a acceptable level. So I was happy.
I returned to this item today and couldn't resist in testing the new PHF_2_play.apf files.
I must say I'm impressed! IMO the hissing is gone! With the HPM-70 you can't hear any hissing at all. With the Sony EX-71 or Sennheiser CX-300 you can hear a tiny little hiss, but you have to be in a total silent room and be really focussed to hear it. (You can't hear is with music on!)
Secondly the sound quality stays on top. With the first drivers ASKD supplied, the hissing was better, but sound quality was less good. Now sound stays at the same high level!
@metatext
You are right. The Sennheiser cx300 are superb. The Sony EX71-81 are good, but these are much better.
Sound is amazing and the senns produce a higher volume then any other earphone I've used.
I've discussed this Megabass issue before. I can't understand why anyone would need this either, but hey ... sound is a very subjective thing. Everybody is free to listen to music the way they want!
Can't undertand why you have hissing with the latest PHF_2_play.apf file.
I use the R1BC acoustic files + the latest PHF_2_play.apf file with my cx300 and there is no hissing.
Can you tell me what equalizer settings you are using with your cx300's, metatext ?
I use 9-8-7-8-9 bars for the moment.

Just wanted to add that I had not reproduced so far the bug I encoutered before (the chainsaw sound).
Thus, my "one file only" change is really worthy.
Thanks again for this excellent hybrid sound driver!

Assuming Far eventually (hopefully) supports the W550/600 phones, should this fix work for them as well?
