@Doctorpor
Do you know anything about Lizzy then? Seems to have disappeared.

And I don't know why some of you are convinced that the M600 design is unusable.

The rocker style keys are better than the P990's keys IMO. The P990's keys have been said to be way too small; the M600 has a better design for a relatively narrow QWERTY smartphone. And the P990 design overall is a little outdated for today's market; it's moving towards designs like the M600 - more Blackberry style.

Hi,

A quick question, am I the only one who read somewhere that there might be an announcement on the 14th April (tomorrow)?

Tomorrow being a saturday, does any of you happen to know if SE has made annoucement on a Saturday before? If not then, I guess it xon't happen. Saturday is usually footie/shopping day, nobody not even me has time for a phone to be announced (yep even for this one).

PS: I'm happy they focus on a M600 kind of design rather than the bulky P990 design. I like to keep my pockets small.

*Hear say*: Yesterday I heard that test-samples of Lizzy were sent to operators for testing purposes. Shortly after SE recalled them all and the Lizzy dissappeard from the roadmaps.

When I played with the Pxxxi phone, it seemd remarkably stable to me. Built quality was excellent. My guess is that it will be announced this month. At least I hope so, because I see no reason why SE would sit on a nearly finished product any longer.

The M600i's keypad design is revolutionary, and quite brilliant - I hope SE have some good strong patents on it. If you spend some time using one, you'll see why conventional qwerty's (such as the P990's) just aren't needed anymore.

I can easily see the M-series taking over from the P-series as the leading smartphone line... if they can cram it with the right features (as apparently they have) that combination with this form factor will be hard to beat. It's offering something that many consider an absolute necessity (a useable qwerty keyboard) in a package that's smaller, neater, and cheaper to make than any of the alternatives.

DocTorpor, are there any negatives apart from the LED flash problem? Sounds like a very postive device so far : )

two things I can comment
1. somebody made some fatal mistake and deserves to be sacked
2. I don't recommend referring phones by their so-called code names, the system will be shuffled a bit, they're used to create confusion intentionally.

I haven't played with the test-sample long enough to find anything negative.
I like my M600i a lot, but I love this new phone now. I've noticed improvements on almost every niggle I have with my M600i.

If I have to be a nitpick:
- I hoped for a slightly larger battery
- The new model is somewhat heavier than the M600i and 1-2mm thicker (no wonder: metal body and many added features). It wouldn't fit in my car holder.
- I couldn't find any proof of HSDPA in the sample
- The screen surface is still very shiny and susceptible to greasy finger stains
