I've resorted to just using one image per playlist, simply because it's too much hassle otherwise. I hear KD Player will support embedded album art soon.
As to why some work and some don't I don't know. Are they all the same aspect ratio?

I hope it will be fixed in future versions. And yes, most of them have same aspect radio (150x150 pixels), I suppose it can't handle many images, I have more than 150 albums all with covers. It's not a big deal for me, I can live without this function for a month or so

thanks!...thought it whould handle any resolution...now i know better..
(i'm too lazy resize the jpegs..
I have 4Gb memory-card so few mb lost on scans doesn't bother me.... )

If it's just a few songs then fair enough I suppose. Still I think your expectation of java on a phone is a little high if you expect not to affect performance of the player by using hi-res images.
If you use Winxp, look up the image resize powertoy from microsoft - you can resize hundreds of images all at once with just a few clicks - it works very well, I recommend it.
