mobiles.co.uk, a part of the CPW group apparantly, have their pre-order page up for the 3G S on monthly contracts with garanteed 18th June despatch.
Go via Quidco for £60 cashback!

So AT&T are allowing current iPhone 3G owners to trade in for a 3G S upgrade - free of charge! And they were all on 24 month contracts to begin with... Compared to the majority of O2 users on 18 months, that makes it even worse! Meh! I would be so up for this, if only O2 actually cared about not ripping of their customers.
I really think the 3G S is being priced out of the market, and we're supposed to be in the middle of a recession... who the hell can afford the prices they are trying to charge? It's just plain ridiculous

The iPhone 3G was supposed to be made cheaper, with the 3GS standing only a bit higher than what the 3G was before it's reduction
What the hell happened?

Feck knows mate. Apple even said in the keynote about iPhone's being more affordable. Yeah maybe in US, not in UK. Like us Brits have that much disposable income atm

Did they really say that? What a load of bs. This one isn't even subsidised. I can see a lot of people just skilpping this generation. By the time they come out of contract it will almost be time for the next iphone. And these phone companies are trying to push 24 month contracts too. Horrible.
