Just talked to SE support (Germany) and according to their information it is only "a matter of days" until the Xperia Ray hits retail stores.

Can be bought in Denmark now from a webshop, but they write that all their phones are german. I suppose that doesn't matter much when it's Android phones, since you can change the language in those?

Agreed. I do not think that there will be much of a difference; probably some of the printed sheets supplemented in the packaging. But that should be it.

Can someone
please do a video-recording on an Arc + Ray at the same time to compare the audio volume in both? I don't want to risk getting Neo quality again. (Or worse: Vivaz quality)

I think no one can make that comparison right now, well except for those who got it for the sake of review, and it is not released yet, even though someone has a Ray, and compare the video audio volume or any kind of test, it will not be fair, because of their software, right now Arc/Neo/Play got the latest software and those phones like Ray and Mini are prototype and their software might still be in Beta, and they are subject to change for better or worse
but if you haven't heard the latest update for Arc/Neo and Play they already have the Stereo Video Recording, the 2nd Mic already enabled while recording some Video.
I got an Arc, and i can tell that the recorded sounds now is better than before

I've never had a problem with the quality on Arc. Arc always recorded fine videos with fine audio. Only the 2 Neos I tried didn't.
But I've just learned now, when comparing the video-samples at GSMArena in their
First look at page 4 video-sample and
Review at page 6 video-sample, it's clear that they've used 2 different Neos. The audio quality in those video-samples are very different. "First look" has crap quality (like the two Neos I bought
), while the video-sample in the review has Arc-quality.
Are you now telling me that it was a software issue that only caused the trouble on
some Neos. That sounds unlikely to me.
Anyway, due to all the trouble I had with those two Neos, and struggling to get my money back, I'm hesitating a bit buying the Ray.
The video-sample at GSMArena done by Ray has good quality with good audio, but I'd like to hear/see that at least twice.

I never tried NEO, because until now it's now available here in my place so i bought an Arc
Well, it's hard to say whether that is a Software issue or a Hardware one, but basically right now with the latest software 4.0.A.2.368, all xperia can record in stereo quality, but those Preview/Review on the Internet comparing Arc and Neo in Video Recording have not the latest software, and Neo is not doing well in that department, both Arc and Neo are just using the main Microphone.
Maybe you should try asking someone with NEO and with this latest software 4.0.A.2.368
I think he's the one who can help you.
