Great news people I've just won a G3 at work in a competition. Not sure what to do might keep it or use it to get the Z3X the one with the curved sensor early next year.
Congrats. IMO since you prefer xperia phones you should try and sell the G3 now (to hopefully get as much as possible for it) and save the cash for Z3x

LG G3 has arrived in South Africa and all networks are offering the 32GB 3GB RAM variant only
I'm super tempted but the Note 4 is about a month away so I'm going to try hanging on tight.

LG G3 is nice but a Snapdragon 805 or newer generation of Exynos will run better with this qhd screen so if you could wait my advice is to do that.
The only main advantage of LG G3 will be the size- Note e 4 will definitely be larger
Anyway for the other LG G3 owners Chrome was updated today and now it is working properly again 😊

Thanks Aussie! I am indeed going to wait a bit, I made it this far past the GS5 and Z2 launch, I can wait 1.5-2months for Note 4 to hit these shores

IMO it would be a shame to buy it so close to the launch of Note 4 and who knows maybe there will be other exciting phones coming out this autumn
That being said I like it - it was nice to make a change from Samsung (however there is always a chance that I get a Note 4 too)

C'mon Aussie, you're gonna get the Note 4
we both know it.
How's the battery life of the G3 compare to that of your other phones by the way?
I'm trying to convince a friend to get this, he's hell bent on getting a GS5 or GS5 Mini, it's actually hard to convince most people these days to not get a Samsung or Apple product, they are so convinced that they are the only manufacturers whose products are worth getting.

The battery life is good - but not great. The Lumia 1520 always had an excellent battery life and the iPhone 55 too. It is not a bad battery life by any means but is not as good as Note 3 for example
Personally I would still choose G3 over S5 however there are 2 things where s5 in imo undoubtedly better : upgrades to future Android releases and battery life ( again g3 is not bad however from what I read s5 is better)

With my experience so far Aussie id have to disagree with you about battery life, and would put it up with any of the other Droids I've ever had, incl the GS5, Note3 and One M8 for my particular pattern of usage. I've been pleasantly surprised and I reckon its the best Android handset to date !! Now I have to say I'm not really an Android fan, and will probably trade it shortly for a Lumia 930 if I can get a good enough deal. I have to have more than one handset to use at any one time (a bit like you really
) The only thing that is putting me off the 930 is the similarity to the 1520 I already have......and really like.
At present there isn't another Android handset that I would have over the G3

No worries at all I appreciate that different people have different experiences with this phone. I am happy with the battery don't get me wrong however I think Note 3 had better battery life. What it the screen on time on your LG- the maximum I can get is 4.5-5 hours but on note 3 I could get even 6 hours
Anyway I agree about the Lumia 930- so tempting however it is so close to Lumia 1520. Plus I am a bit skeptic about the battery life after reading the Gsmarena review. Would be interesting to read how you find it if you end up buying it. As much as I like wp 8.1 (just realised today finally that it has internal search!) I don't think I want 2 handsets - unless I get the 1020 for the excellent camera
Anyways it is nice to hear you are enjoying the LG - it is a lovely phone i hope it will do well sales wise for LG
