"According to the current test results of the Snapdragon 888, the rollover is firmly established. The meaning of the rollover here is: Under the same usage scenarios and performance requirements, the Snapdragon 888 may consume higher power.
This problem is caused by Samsung's 5nm process and the three-cluster architecture. No matter how poor Samsung's 5nm process is, it is not the culprit that causes the energy consumption of the Snapdragon 888 to be lower than that of the Snapdragon 865. The X1 super core is the one.
In other words, with the optimization of Qualcomm, the power consumption performance of Snapdragon 888 in daily use will get better and better until it may fully surpass Snapdragon 865. However, the optimization of three clusters has always been a problem. For most users, continue It is not impossible to use Snapdragon 865 to overcome this generation of disabilities."
It actually makes sense to me....

OK so in short, SD888 is more power consuming than Exynos2100 because of The X1 super core?

Now I remember.
Maybe this ??
https://androidnext.info/?p=9047 (ignore part that says 5iii with SD7xx)
10 iii = a1, r2
Writer believes it means "announcement in january", "release in february".
XA1, XA1u and L1 were announced at CES.

Sony has something to show at CES based on their IG story.
They're probably referring to the future as "5G" for their midrange phones.
But kind of lame TBH as 5G is already available for a year now if that is the case.

Nope, Snapdragon 888 uses Samsung’s 5 nm process. But the problem is not with Samsung’s process, but it’s with that one Cortex-X1 core.
It’s still unclear to me whether Exynos 2100 will be better than Snapdragon 888 or not, but I think at least they’ll be almost on par right now, the discrepancies won’t be as much.
