clank is right.
if you want to get the result in KBps (like for example 256KBps broadband connection), all you have to do is DIVIDE the result you get by number 8. because 8Kbps = 1KBps.

here in mumbai on my airtel gprs, first time it showed 3.34 KBps and second time it shows 2.31 KBps.
