Just been on to Carphone Warehouse business sales and they are giving exactly the same story re: stock levels as OSPS, difference being they told me right up front that they were out before we looked at ordering anything.
Apparently they still have a small quantity of their original delivery in their retail stores that have been getting transfered around all over the place, but as far as new deliveries go they have no idea when they will be arriving. Does kind of mellow me a bit to OSPS re the wait times as i dont think there is a lot they can do about it, just not happy with the practise of taking full payment from customers cards before delivery. Still i have alerted my card company to what is going on so should the worst happen and they go under taking everyones payments with them i have been assured i am covered, maybe worth other people doing the same....

B******s if ever I have heard it.I phoned up twice on one day to get an answer, was given two different answers.I then phoned the sales staff to see if they were still telling porkies to customers.
I asked to purchase a P900, yes sir , you can have one of them , we have them in stock.Telling the truth? My ass.
I emailed their head of customer services,still have not had a reply and he is in charge of them.
If anyone has an order , just cancel it and go elsewhere.I got mine for £79 for carphone warehouse plus £30 quid back for my old phone and charger.
Just a point about the changing of tariffs.I had an Orange phone before and changed my tariff one month too early and the phone company took the money straight out of my account for the t68i.Whats to stop Carphonewarehouse doing the sameif we change too early.

I have also received (as others posters have mentioned) an email response from CPW, which states that for Orange phones, you can only change the tariff after the 3rd monthly payment... For O2, if anyone is interested, it is apparently 6 months through CPW...
This appears to be their officialy stand on it, as confirmed by others... so beware, the P900 is quite a costly beast!

CPW have NO information in their Terms & Conditions about downgrading tariffs, Orange don't mention it either.
@exclaim, stated that he would be downgrading his Orange contract, (Bought through CPW) after 1 month, so it got me thinking, i searched the Terms & conditions of both companies & found NOTHING, i then checked my reciept from CPW, it doesn't even say what monthly payments i have agreed to pay, it just says i agree to pay a YP Orange contract for 12 months, nothing else.
ACTION, I rang & asked CPW if they would/could penalize me, they said they could NOT.
Although Orange would make THEM pay the difference.
I then rang Orange who happilly down graded my contract/s.
NOTE, it seems the sales staff are "Recommending" different periods of time you have to stay with a high tariff purely to protect an "open wound" in there dealings with Orange.

I got my little monster today, from Orange direct, a little bit high, but its my choice, calling osps for my money, i must say that osps wasted all my time, now i have to settle down and play with this toy.

What Pachy said is correct, Both CPW and Orange's T&C's do not state anywhere that you have to stay on a certain tariff for x number of months - you are only required to stay with the Network (orange in this case) for a minimum of 12 months. This has been confirmed by a coupl of people who work for The Link and CPW, although this will last I don't know!
The only unfortunate downside is that (as Pachy said) the retailer will have to pay Orange whatever the difference is when you downgrade to a lower tariff and it may affect the comission of the person who sold you the phone which I do feel bad about. But I suppose I have been a loyal customer for the last 7 years or so even though they are a bit more expensive sometimes (trying to redeem myself here...). You can also change tariffs on the Orange website (once you setup your account)

@Exclaim, yes i must point out that i was happy with my CPW deal untill i heard someone had got the phone £20 cheaper from them than i did, i rang to ask for the difference back, but was told i needed to "Find company that doess it cheaper within 7 days" like it says in T&C, i said i HAD "FOUND" the cheaper deal within 7 days but had been too busy to tell them, as nothing in the T&C said i had to "REPORT" that to THEM within 7 days. but they just told me they wouldn't honour it, so i decided to find a way to make them pay for that "We dont care" conversation.
This is why i followed up your post.
I think i might have a KFC with some of the extra £70's i have saved on each handset.

This phone is great,i now believe that osps put me back by a month and i hate them for that, and i guess they will make people wait till the end of the year, maybe not thier fault, but for the credit card issue thats stealing.
