> New Firmware R2L For K700i
Bookmark topic
Just had my 1 week old k700i flashed to R2L by SE...
Not very pleasant experience, while queueing up there were like 4 others having issues with their k700i, duno if the new upgraded R2L had helped them.
But i noticed on R2L if you do a double tap on the joystick while in the main menu, it would sort of freeze your mobile for awhile. eg tap once, while the animation is showing for cursor change, tap one more time.
A Single tap would be ok.
There still is a sync issue with the k700i, but not sure with which program, as the lady infront of me was like screwing the SE staff major for not being able to resolve the issue, overheard is they would replace it with a new k700i, even though they had already flashed her k700i to R2L.

In video playback, backlight sort of dims after a short while. There's no way you can brighten it up again while the video is playing. What a bug!!
Still no fullscreen mode in video..
Main menu speed still the same...
Still can't zoom in images in gallery.. (Wat d heck!!!)
SE should do something about this ...

I am still on R2A firmware and waiting until I reach my full battery performance b4 I upgrade to the latest firmware so that I can tell whether it really does make any difference to battery. I am not sure whether the users on this forum reporting the sudden increase in battery life are due to the fact that they did not use the battery long enough to reach the optimum performce, hence when they upgraded to the new firmware and used the battery for longer realised the battery life was getting better?? The reason I am saying this is because I don't see how SE could increase the battery life when they have obviously increased the LCD back-light power.
...Unless they have reduced the power at which the antennae operates at (which would result in poorer reception but better battery performance). Anyone on R2L notice any difference in reception?

I know how the SE improve the battery with this firmware, the R2A uses 8mAh of power, and now the R2L uses 2mAh of power, I discover it using the fma

This might sound stupid but what is FMA? If it is anything to do with the reception being compromised I wont be upgrading to the new frmware as I depend on the reception, especially that O2 don't have a very good signal around the country.
I have previously owned a Samsung E700 and that sometimes used to go on SOS calls only....fortunately my K700 hasn't done that yet.
But one odd thing I did notice once (I don't know if it is a network fault) is that on my K700 I received a with-held call (where the number doesn't show up) when I pressed accept call the caller ended the call at the same time. When I went to check the missed calls list it wasn't there....nor on the received calls. I pressume that it should be on one of them as there could only be 2 possibilities - either I had answered the call and the caller put the phone down, or I had missed the call i.e. the caller put the phone down b4 I answered the call. Very odd....

On the Yamigo website they list the supported IM clients from various handsets and it lists R3B as being supported. It would seem that R3B is already available in some areas.
