My first

phone was my first GSM phone ever, a T616. A great phone that survived 3 owners across 3 years, and first introduced me - via my Mac, my PDA, and my first wireless headset - to the world of Bluetooth
Then I purchased an S710a and some of the

luster wore off a bit. The UI was annoyingly laggy, even after some firmware updates. The lagginess also contributed to exceptionally poor picture-taking in low-light settings. The

on it never worked right with any headset, even an

one. Finally, I had a dreadful service experience when the earpiece on it failed.
Now -
after another, even more dreadful service experience
- I'm the happy owner of a W810
I also found an eBay store selling new-in-box T637s for $100 and added one to my collection as a backup phone. As aesthetically pleasing was the T616's design, the T637 is even more so, and the screen is actually visible in sunlight, too! I get it back today from
iUnlock where it was upgraded, decustomized, and unlocked. I'll have to carry it for a bit, if I can bear to put down the W810 at all
In between, I've owned two Motorolas, a V551 and a V3i. The v551 was pure rubbish. I had to exchange one monthly for six months due to various hardware ("No Bluetooth Module Installed" was my favorite) and software problems. The V3i, in contrast, was perfectly reliable. However, the mentally-challenged UI and address book proved as aggravating as the artificial iTunes limits on song count and bit rate. Not to mention how bloody commonplace these devices have become!
