@789KBR

Cricket, football, rugby, golf, tennis and quite a few other sports originated in Britain and the rest of the world is far far better at them!

@786KBR

What 3 between friends?

Golf originated in Scotland, where it was actually banned for a time!

Football as it is now played originated in England in the 1800's. There have been several games played by a multitude of cultures throughout history, which are similar to football, but the modern game of football came from England.

i think everyone should be more tolerante of each other and also more knowledgeable about other cultures and religons
this shouldnt be a one way street were non muslims just learn about muslim culture and religion but a 2 way street were muslims learn about western culture and religions.
there is nothing to be gained by living as 2 separte races of people and the sooner both sides become more toleratne of each other the easier the world will be to live in
to do this both sides need to be prepared to bend a little

Totally agree

We should all try to learn about each other. But many people don’t like to or there parents don’t like there children to. I remember in my school many people were taken out of RE (Religious Education) because they or there parents didn’t want to learn about other peoples religion (truth be told it was mainly youngsters of a Middle Eastern origin).

Learning and having knowledge of other religions doesn’t necessarily mean they have to follow them does it? Knowledge is power

Wise words indeed. If I were to move to a foreign country I would make an effort to learnt he local customs and integrate into that culture. Of course I would still retain my own cultural identity, but I would not look to live apart from the culture I was living in.

So too should people who come to Britain be prepared to adopt British values and customs. This doesn't mean to say that they cannot retain their own cultural identity, but it does mean that they should be prepared to integrate into their new community.

Britain allows a great deal of freedom to people; to practice any religion they choose; to dress in anyway they wish; to observe religious and cultural holidays and have their jobs recognise those and many other cultural rights besides.

There is nothing contradictory about being British as well as maintaining an individual cultural identity. British people have done it for years by being British as well as from their respective Home Nation.

@ScotsboyUK, couldnt have said it better.

(football was started by people kicking an inflated pigs bladder from one village to another, the first village(team) to kick it all the way to the other village wins!)
