The Tao Te Ching is not so much a predictive work as it is a general work, which is relevant to all times.
The I Ching can be used to predict many things. The Qu'raan may very well predict many things, but then so do many texts. Personally I don't find anything particualry special about its predicitons when one takes them in context of similar predictive texts e.g. the Book of Revelations; the works of Nostradamus, the writings of the Brahn Seer, Mother Shipton, etc.
One can usually make a prophecy fit. That isn't to say that I do not believe in prophecy, but one should be careful when predicting the future or accepting such prophecies as truth because they can often be taken in avariety of ways and much of the time are little more than generalisations, which are applicable to a number of situations across a wide range of time.
The general point I was making was that any work of literature, fictitious or not can have as much or as little relevance to one's life and the world as one choose to give it.

Chapter 30 from the Holy Quran, verses 19 - 22 mention:
It is He Who brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living, and Who gives life to the earth after it is dead: and thus shall ye be brought out (from the dead).
Among His Signs in this, that He created you from dust; and then,- behold, ye are men scattered (far and wide)!
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.
And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colours: verily in that are Signs for those who know.

I dont think any prediction anywhere will lead to the end...It will be our own doing...Surely WWIII...Or global warming.

i often find in situations like this if your looking for something youll find it anywhere or make things fit to what you want to believe.
a lot of predictions just paint a picture then someone repaints the picture to fit themselves and there beliefs.
look at jehovahs witness who managed to think that blood transfusions are wrong from just 2 passages in the bible about taking anothers blood (which probably has more to do with killing)
what i trying to say is if your looking for signs youll probably find them or shape something to fit what your looking for

I think I said the same thing, albeit in a much more long winded and pompous manner.

So whats the final conclusion then?...That religions point of view on the end of the world is false?and that doomsday may or may not happen?and if it does its likely to be a comet or other natural disaster?

Religions require faith, they require people to believe in what they teach. If one does then one may very well accept a religious view of humanity's end. However, one can also believe in non-religious events to end humanity and I don't see the two as being incompatible.

yes the signs written in the Quran maybe existed long time ago... But bare in mind these are words from God not Prophets or man for that matter... and it is written by Prophets... & Prophets do not hang around with people that disrespect their parents, adultery, decorated mosque or seen tall buildings.... therefore one cannot say, "oh its written in the Quran because this cases has been around since b4," Very unlikely..
This signs given are for the people our generation and the next, its for us to realise the truft, that the Quran is written for a meaning.. the signs are there yes, u can relate it to todays world, but it doesnt mean the world is goin to end really soon... it could take 10yrs, 100yrs, 1000yrs from now... we do not know... But from the things goin around the world today.. can make a Muslim to believe it getting nearer... so for us, its better to prepare and take action (pray) now, then its too late... u dont want to see the sun rising from the West and start praying! its too late then.. the gate for forgiveness will be closed....
ps- the Quran maybe written 1500yrs ago, but the words written in the Quran can lead to the day life starts on Earth...
