Can you surf & write etc on the touch screen in candybar mode?

Has anybody here actually used this thing yet? If so what are your impressions?

I'm loving this phone so much despite the fact that it is windows mobile, I wish it was uiq. If it turns out to be stable I'll definitely overlook that it is WM.

UIQ3 doesn't seem to be stable on my M600 (with the latest and last fw), maybe UIQ3.3 will be... so I'll definitely choose WM and the X1 if it'll come out. And yes, WM has a lot more third party software and games available than UIQ and yes, you can do all the things with your WM phone as you would do with "normal" phones.

What's dissapointing in the Xperia presentations is the orientation delay from switching between portrait and landscape. Design wise I prefer an Xperia that slides Vertically with P1i keyboard like paris

From the look of the "hands on" reviews on YouTube looks to me like HTC are a long way from having a fully finished and working X1 so by the time have finished mucking around with it my guess is 2009 launch date!

Infact the demonstrator seemed nervous everytime she slid the keys and change the orientation because the device never respond immediately.

I have used one at Mobile Asia 2008 Expo...

X1 looks just like it looks in so many live pictures on the net... But in real it's really really compact, thickness wise ok, but heavy... The display size ok but not big.... The screen resolution was just GREAT/AWESOME!!!!!!! Even the brightness, contrast and visibilty were so good that 65k was not making much of a difference... Couldn't check the Xperia thing, first time I didn't knew how to activat it and the second time it was deleted from the phone...

The D-Pad can be used in two ways... First, just like a normal D-Pad... Second, by sliding finger in different directions on the D-Pad...

When I used it, well it was just like any other mobile windows phone, and at its current state, it was too damn slow and just kept getting hanged, hanged and hanged no matter what I did... So I just couldn't use it much... It has stereo speakers but the volume was only average... The keyboard could have been better if it's keys were coming out a bit...
