Exactly. Going back to my original point, if you buy the C905, you buy it for the camera...

...and the WiFi... and the GPS...

I know the phone has these extras, but I also know people at work who can't even access Contacts, let alone the Internet over a Wireless Network! Apart from enthusiasts like us, there is only one thing people will see when they get this phone:

8.0 MP Cybershot

That's what this phone is centred around. I bet the Wi-Fi is good, but there are business phones which will do this better. And how often will the average user access the GPS function? Hardly ever in truth.

Most will buy the C905 for the 8.0 mp camera. I mean everyone knows more megapixels means a better camera right? (Calm down everyone! It's a joke!!!!)

They will because the phone buying public are very ignorant of cameras. I hear people in phone shops all the time;
'Cybershot 3.2mp? But this LG has 5.0mp so it's better!'

Not their fault, company's have just used megapixel counts as branding for years now, suggesting the higher the count, the better the product. So people see the 8.0Mp count printed on the side, and buy it cause it's higher than everything else.

So a lot of people will also buy the Samsung for the camera too cause it's higher than everything else (just like all those who own N95's but only text with them) and probably be let down by it's performance, as the Samsung is an all round phone which does a bit of everything, but lacks true performance in all areas cause it crams so much else in.

I cringe when i hear phone shop assistants selling the latest phones to the gullible public. THIS LATEST PHONE HAS 5 MEGA PIXEL CAMERA ITS THE BEST ON THE MARKET. Tut. A recent review of the C702 states that the 3.2 mega pixel camera on that phone is just as good as any 5 pixel camera phone and most people can live with that. Though not the joe public who aint got a blue. I once had a Sony 8.1 mega pixel dedicated camera and its performance was below that of a 6 mega pixel Panasonic which my brother has.

thats the problem. if sony ericsson realease a 3.2 megapixel camera phone with awesome quality but quite expesive no one will buy it because people have been led to believe that high mp is better.

true but generally speaking SE is consistant so an 8MP from SE can be expected to be better than a 5MP from SE. K850 camera was a bit of a disappointment in some areas (the K800 3.2MP could be better in some cases) but overall it still represented an advancement in camera phone tech, and was arguably better than the N95 5mp. I know some will argue this, but I still think from the analysis I have done of pictures from both cameras that the K850 is better overall than the N95, despite some major flaws in the K850 (namely purple tinge and poor red colour reproduction).

I guess we will have to wait to see, but I expect the C905 pics will be better than any other camera phone on the market. SE is in my view the OEM least likely to produce a camera phone that is only a gimmick.

We may be lambasted with our opinions here max but yes, N82 was really an impressive camera phone, but i don't like the way it produces overcooked colors esp the pink turning to red (which is the opposite case for K850 turning reds to pinks ), and there comes some visible smudging and sharpening that number1 points out in all nokia phone's post processing. n82 could've probably win because of it's impressive flash and other extras that complements the technological advancement of it imaging side but the true camera leader in image quality is non other than the i-mobile 902.
