How the f*ck can Sony be so stupid to have 2 different displays? And knowing this, how can they be so stupid that they send reviewers a phone with the bad display?! They should have sent them the good ones.
When I tried the xperia Z the display was very good and I am usually very picky about stuff like that, specially about black levels (which was good on the unit I saw)

Get back to your phone shop and send him back for new one, your phone display is a faulty display.

thejosetree, i know how you feel, but its like this with every new product from Sony, they will never learn, rather just sit back and be entertained by the crazy excuses and defense

these are the sort of customers other OEMs can only dream of having, unfortunetly they (the other OEMs) HAVE to make good phones to get such love.
I'm still shocked at how Sony have botched the screen, doesn't seem like a FW update can fix this despite what our resident Sony lover has said, looking at many pics of Z suggests Sony used the cheapest display/display components that they could find.

Did you guys even read the thread Riyal created on XDA?
There is no such thing as a BAD or inferior panel. All Xperia Z use the same panel - Sharp 5 inch 1080p.
The difference in screens is due to variation in calibration. So have patience, it will be fixed in firmware update or someone at XDA will find a solution soon.

According to some screenshots I have seen, Sony's calibration software is going to be included in XZL. Thus, for those who have XZ, does XZ have any sort of screen calibration software?

nice comparison btw htc one vs Z ,
Performance and camera quality aside, both smartphones are premium devices with a desirable design and a similar weight and feel. They're evenly matched in connectivity terms, and each offers a stunning displays - the HTC's is sharper, while the Sony offers better colours and more screen estate. The Sony has less storage, but you can add a microSDXC card. The HTC One and Xperia Z even cost about the same amount.

Personally I dont care it that much. But it's wierd that the screen performance of Japanese devices and the internation variant is different. Hope the future FW update could solve the issue.

@King
I think the good screen comes from japan. IDK why people are complaining about the viewing angles. If its SO IMPORTANT for them why people put privacy screen protector on their phones? Some samsung users even put privacy screen protectors lol. I think bad viewing angles arguement are stupid because the next person to u can see what you're doing with your phone if it has good viewing angles. People who own SONY phones doesn't need to buy privacy screen protectors anymore because SONY has built in privacy in their screen
