i bought a brand new n95 8gig off ebay, £200.00, and its excellent, with the exception of the stuttering video playback occasionally. I'm pretty sure it came after i updated the firmware to v31 from v20. How annoying.
Stuttering video playback may not be the device itself.
1> rule out the video itself:
a) is it streamed? If so clear all the cache in the browser, close and relaunch it, go directly to the streaming link; play.
b) if its local on your MicroSD card or internal 8GB (yours is) then delete it. Play it from you PC using VLC Player. Use the menu to see the bitrate, size, and speed of the video on the fly. check statistics for playback.
2> resize the video and its bitrate and the format of the video mp4 vs H.264. Use AAC for the audio codec ; but first CHECK if all are supported in your firmware.

You need to use the Esato Forum Board link, even when using Opera8.65 you cant look at the front page, im browsing full HTML Esato on UCWEB right now, set it to view pages in adaptive mode, IMO its far better than OperaMini.

Id suggest looking at the N79,its an N85 in candy bar with no issues.
I Currently have a N81 and occasionaly use a E90.
ALL
The N96 has recieved a MAJOR FW Update, its on NSU and also on OTA, so if you dont have a PC you can go to Device Manager and update, its around 12.5-13mb via OTA so its not large, via PC im sure its well above 120mb, its now V20, heres the changelog:

I know all about the N79 ... and I'm refusing to purchase it let alone consider it.
* No USB charging. Not economic nor environmentally friendly.
* No proper dedicated gaming/music keys.
* I prefer the NGage support and firmware support of a top-tier device than second rate.

Ever since the release of the Symbian S60 version of UCWEB6.3 i dumped OperaMini, with UCWEB6.3 you can do multi-tab browsing, it plays animations/gifs on websites, and uses the websites text field just like other proper smartphone web browsers like Opera8 and 9, PIE, S60 Webkit browser etc. . .also loads pages a lot faster than Opera Mini and all this without eating up RAM like OperaMini does, then again i hate Java apps with a passion, and as great as OperaMini is for casual browsing it sux for anything else.
EDIT: Link to Symbian S60 version of UCWEB6.3:

I tried out the software and wasnt happy with it, i cant view proper web pages with that, even with esato web page it comes out in wap. im sorry the software is pretty backwards. i dunno why would u say this is better than opera mini.
Thanks for the update guys. I'm going to try both version this week.
I'm hoping that sync'ing Bookmarks with FireFox Beta 3.5 works with either as i use that as my main WinXP SP3 browser on both machines - migrating - and I use them to manage my Bookmarks on my E71-2.
I'm considering the Xperia but its still way too expensive. However, trying to find the N85 NAM with no issues is difficult to find.
Upper & Gucci what devices on S60 are you using?! Thanks.
im using n95.

Depends on how much you want to spend. It's a bit older now, so should be not so expensive anymore. It's still a good phone, so, at a reasonable price, it's a good buy.
