That's how the IOS's started right, without any single application? Even Android does not have that many applications which are as useful as the ones on IPhone. That UI will surely put Meego's name on the map. I think developers will like it.

I'm sorry, but Meego looks like the last UIQ concepts, which isn't really attractive to me to be honest.
And as phoner already said, the apps are one of the most important things for a successful OS.
I also predict that WM7 is going to be huge, especially the business version could be interesting for people who don't like those colorful and shiny operating systems.

Applications are just one part of what makes an OS good. But then again, one must remember that huge selection of applications are not made overnight. It will take some time to make one. The Iphone app store is a living proof to that, as we all know. With regard to the Meego's UI resembling the last UIQ concept, again this is a vanilla UI and still can be made to look even better with a custom one. I know to each, his own, but Meego's UI still looks better than the normal Android UI at least for now. Rumour has it that Android 3.0 will have a revamp UI.

Err people tend to forget the influence google and Apple have on people and thereby the developers.Meego which shall be used only by Nokia and probably LG, doesnt cater to huge crowd like Android and therefore wouldnt really attract developers to put their money into it.

Does anyone care to remember that Meego and Symbian use the same toolkit for app development and an app written for Symbian can be deployed for Meego and vice versa without rewriting it?

I don't see how people can claim that the meego UI looks heaps better than say Android or IOS4. For me, it looks very crammed and it takes a lot of design cues from other more popular OS's.

That UI looks dull and boring to me. The OS itself is quite interesting I must say.

Yep, what's even better is that you can run it on other phones too if you install the infrastructure (Qt) They had a nice little demo from that at the MWC

Sorry Friends,
I just want to draw your attention to this point
Couple days ago I noticed
MOTOROLA MILESTONE , since I live in Kuwait I noticed the keyboard has both Arabic and English fonts !
Android systems doesn't support and they didn't announced any kind for langauge support even in the newly coming ver 3.0
I wonder How Motorola did it ? did they just upgraded it because it is Open source ? If it was like that , Why

didn't do it in the X10 ?
By the way

I cheked that Milestone , it has Android ver 2.0
The only reason I bought my VIVAZ is it because No Android device support Arabic langauge
I'm still loyal to

Meego is the last thing Sony Ericsson needs right now. They need to continue to focus on bringing out great products on the platforms they currently support today. Meego looks to be a good OS, but it'll just sap resources from other projects at this point.
