There are much better deals than that available thru Expert Infotech and Digi Parallel Imports has the stunningly beautiful red version. After the disappointment of my V640i, I won't be buying any more 'official' phones.
True, though some phones have very toned down Vodafone firmware. The C702 and K770i for example.
I found out the other night that my friend has bought himself a brown V640i. I had a quick go on it and to be honest, it was nothing special.
Perhaps some clarification is in order here. I'm protesting against Sony Ericsson NZ's after sales service and Vodafone's slow release dates not

. I'll happily buy a G705/W705 from an importer, avoid SENZ altogether and ensure Vodafone reps I encounter know it.

It is weird. I take photos, but they don't show up on the Sandisk 8GB M2, the original Sony 256MB M2 or the phone memory; odd indeed. I've been using the iPhone alot since I updated to the latest firmware but now that I've gone back to the V640i and discovered this, I'm not happy.

Wow that's a pretty bad fault. Maybe you could take it back and attempt to get yourself one of them G502s (then sell it on?

).

I think I may have been mistaken (or my local Vodafone store were) when I quoted the NZ W980 price. The
Vodafone website is now listing it at $899 which is $100 closer to being a decent price, but still not quite there.

@Spyra: Welcome mate, even though I see you're no noob! I've added you to our New Zealanders list on the first page... Where abouts in NZ are you from?
PhonesDirect is based in Geraldine, which is a couple of hours south of Christchurch, and from a quick look at their website a few months back, I quickly wrote them off as untrustworthy, though they could be worth a look I guess!

Welcome Spyra, and good spotting too. Looking through their range, PhonesDirect is generally dearer than Expert Infotech except in the case of W960 and W902.
If $712 is their G705 release price, then after a few weeks EI should have it around $650ish I hope. I would have though it would sell for less than the $609 G900 but then the W960 is still $764 and $655 at EI and PD respectively.
I'm bookmarking Phones Direct now... cheers!

Yep so anyone watching, please feel free to say hi!
I'd like to apologise for the amount of time it took me to get Esato Earth up and running, but I'd now like to inform you all that it is now working and ready. So take a look and let me know if anything is wrong/needs to be changed.
Also, we need more location images! Please add your NZ images to Esato Earth guys. I won't be using them until you guys give me permission!
