the bezel represents negative space.. ie, things that dont need to be there. with screens the size they are, bezels from 1997 are anachronistic. and your point that its nice on tvs translates perfectly to your hand. it still needs speakers sensors leds and such but 85+% should be achievable.
Honami ZL PLEEEEASE!!!! (128GB internal)
Honami has a much bigger battery, they need somewhere to put it. Bigger camera module too, and most likely a bigger speaker. I'm surprised the bezel isn't even bigger.

Phonearena is a place where samsung fanboys review a sony phone
this is
invalid argument ..
I highly respect Daniel P reviews they are usually accurate , neutral and non-biased ..
Im talking about ray s lol
hehe ..... well you might be right in this case ..

First of all, I'm VERY excited for Honami! I'll probably get it and retire my slow and beat up X10a, but I'm interested to see if there really is a i1L or if the proto that Maia saw really exisits. I remember early rumors stating i1 will be most beautiful sony ever and best of Z with a ZL bezel. I guess those prototypes never made it, or haven't yet.

Aren't the rumoured dimensions honami only 1mm wider than Z?
Z edges are perfectly acceptable to me. To add to that, honami has a more angular frame edging meaning the actual glass panel on the front of the phone may even be narrower than Z, but with the same screen size.
The only really noticeable difference in dimension in the height with honami being taller it will have a little more top and bottom, but I think this is a good thing as the Z top and bottom is about 2-3mm too narrow for me to put my thumb.
The bezel situation really isn't an issue.

with all due respect to everyone here, I honestly don't get the fuss over the bezel size, Bezel-less TV may look great, but on a smartphone? unless it's rectangular glass unibody design, it won't look that appealing to me at all. LG may pride themselves about their thin bezel milestone with the G2 but in my eyes it's Galaxy S4 that looked way more retarded.
Agreed. Moreover I'm sure we've all had an incident, or 2 of dropping our smartphones (and if you're old enough feature phones SE-OS) and lost it completely when the bezel damaged the display. The HTC One with his thicker bezel doesn't bother me at all to be honest.
I haven't been following this thread too habitually however I'm wondering if the Honami will be metal or ?

Thanks @jianlin
I still stand by the point I was trying to make. 1.5mm each side is nothing when most of it is the angular frame. 5mm in height is neither necessary, nor unwelcome.

I agree as well, bezels don't really affect my buying decision at all. I don't have huge hands but I find the Z to be a very comfortable size and in fact I think it could be slightly bigger (which Honami is) so for me personally, honami dimensions are perfect.
The Z Ultra though, is another story altogether
Anyway, I've heard Sony could be working on an APS-C sensor lens accessory for next year.
