Well, It is really bad in some aspects where it shouldnt... camera is below average (for a Cybershot branded handset), its near useless in low light conditions despite its LED flash (too much noise in pictures). And since the camera was the main reason i bought it, it did not lived up to my expectations... If fact, W595/W705/T700's camera outperforms it in color reproduction and noise control almost everytime (save macro shots)... Software is slow, even with current firmware (R3EAXXX i think)...

Its like ive read in the W995 picture thread, the C702 (and C510 for that matter) doesnt deserve to be called a Cybershot...

That pretty much describes it...

Sorry for the offtopic...

O/T: My W995 makes me happy

@Lightspeed_x
I think you should replace it. There should be a clicking sound while focusing/release focus without shooting, but not after a shot/ when saving. And secondly, only with considerable pressure does my slider move ~1-2mm (I'm sure you don't mean cm right? Change it for sure if it moves by the cm) to the side at the top left with slider closed, but as I said, considerable pressure otherwise it shouldn't wobble/move as it really is solid. Seriously this is one crazy solid phone mate, don't settle for anything less

I have some questions that I hope you can help me out with. I'm on the fence of purchasing either the W705a/W995a (the price is a factor but only based on core functionality). This phone will not be for me only my daughter (But I'll keep it if she doesn't like it).

* Calendar on A2 [DB3210 specifically].
- Has this improved since the K850i? Layout, more information displayed, Notes having alarms and displayed in the Calendar? Can I attach notes to the Calendar? Can I get an hourly count (not the bars) of the total time of an appointment?

* Browser.
- Can it surf over WLAN without the GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA radio being on (ie Flight mode)? Can it surf even if radio is on and no connection? Is the WLAN connection available to the J2ME applications, any restrictions?

* M2 card.
- Can apps be downloaded and saved (via 3G,WLAN or USB/WLAN) to the M2 card and installed later using built-in File Browser?

* Screenshots.
- How on Earth are you guys able to take screenshots?!? I never knew this could be done on SE phones, is this a built-in function now?

* Keypad.
- Is this Numeric keypad as clicky and noisy as all other phones? I recall the K750 and the K850i as being fairly quite. I ask because the kids here are not supposed to have phones in class and if its an emergency or situation where she needs to message me or her mom (for a call to office to allow to be excused) then a quick sms can be done quitely.

Personal question (yes because I'm feeling the nastalgia of )
* Conversation/Threaded SMS - can this be disabled in all phones released since January 2009? I HATE conversation/Threaded SMS.

Browser - It can use Wi-Fi when no data connection is configured (never tried in flight mode).
Keypad is not as clicky as K750.
Conversations - The old menu item 'Messages' is still there if you want the old view instead of conversations.

EDIT: Removed quote.

keypad feels very nice, not noisy at all. you can also turn off the clicking sound.

Awesome!

Thanks TVFun and kreacher for the reply's, very helpful. I'll be purchasing the T705a for my daughter this Christmas, considering the W995a as a backup to my iPhone.

After reading your questions carefully, I'm actually not sure of the right answer to the following:

"Is the WLAN connection available to the J2ME applications, any restrictions?"

Hopefully somebody else can chime in..

@tvfun and OP: Opera mini works fine, also i have tested FPC Bench and works OK sending my results to their webpage (previous authorization to use the internet)...

@mode: Thanks for the reply, i meant millimeters (1/10 of a centimeter), however, i dont have to apply significant pressure for it to move...

About the sound, i tried with my C702 and that sound is also there, quieter though... i think its like Prom1 said, might be a way to seat the lens in a safe position to avoid damage while using the phone normally (or if it accidentally drops to the floor or another surface)...
