Not really, now that SE is incorporating WIfi and Gps into their feature phones the word smartphone will be a myth. Now only if they put in a document and a pdf reader. There are hardly many people out there who actually install symbian many applications in their phone.Maybe 1%.

That is true to a certain extent. But, applications like opera mobile 9.5, core player etc are a must buy these days and they are only possible with smartphones. I know that the gap between feature phones and smartfones is decreasing day by day but uiq3, with its touch screen and simple UI can easily take on s60 and A200. When it comes to high end phones, people would definitely prefer smart phones as they offer more functionality for nearly the same price.

@ Mizzle

complete respect for the honest and truthful post on SE-NSE. i agree on all the points you have discussed.

couple of questions:
is the C905 good? or will it be a flop like the K850?
furthermore, can we consider the C905 as the start of Dick Komiyama reign?
you can't disclose any inside information (we all understand), but just simple hints: shall we anticipate GOOD models to come end of 2008, and starting 2009? something with a (K750) effect??

thanks again Mizzle,

no no, not done yet..
what is it with eldar these days???
"..Another noteworthy fact about this phone is that while it is still unavailable in Sony Ericsson's price list, many retailers already had a chance to play around with it and didn't come out enthusiastic about it. That's why it's safe to say that the C905 will follow in the footsteps of the K850i... "

@Makbil, So what, that's one phone model, it does not define the entire Nokia or SE range. The N95 was successful to people who probably only ever use 50% of it's features.

You may be right in general. On the other hand, people such as myself use the full capabilities of the phone and we want them to work.
The bottom line is, for the past 2 years SE has been sitting on their backsides doing nothing but paint jobs while the competition kept improving their products. You can't explain this with the amount of resources a company has, it was this same SE that made the K750 and the P900.

Yeh, screw smartphones. But wait, applestore and iphone is a pretty great success, and people want smartphones. It gives people the chance to choose wich pdf, gps and webbrowser they want to use.

Some simple apps installed on feature phones don't make them smartphones, what a bullsh..t.
It's also about RAM, display, qwerty etc. I should be fcuking mad to actually WORK on K850 for instance!
And it goes other way - until smartphones apps will not offer real usability and full, uncompromised potential, only some people will use it.
But once they'll achieve the high level, more people will use it definately.

iPhone isn't a smartphone. It's a "normal" mobilephone. ;) It was said by Steve Jobs himself... so trust him =)

Haha, you made me laugh!
I'd never call stupid iPhone as a smatphone!
And Steve Jobs is the last person I'd trust in my life.
I was referring to some posts above, speaking in general about feature phones.
