APS-C sensors are usually found on entrylevel-midrange DSLRs, in terms of size they are 13x larger than regular compact camera sensors, and the one used in Honami's camera (1/2.3")
here's a size comparison chart

@Tai
Anything else you can read?
@Topic
Can anyone confirm that Xperia i1 is indeed the official name for Honami ? That's what I'm hearing. No more alphabets.

Calmly this time guys !
Undeniably the hardware and software photographic Honami are promising, and the sample leaked image is of excellent quality !
But to say that it will offer photographic results superior to those present in the 808 Pureview, has a long distance !
Remember:
Lens: Honami (
Sony G Wide Angle 28 mm) Vs 808 Pureview (
Zeiss Vario Tessar 26 mm)
Sensor Size: Honami (
1/2.3") Vs 808 Pureview (
1/1.2")
Resolution: Honami 20.6 MP (
5248 x 3936) vs 41.4 MP (
7728 × 5368)
Pixel Size "Microns": Honami (
1.176) Vs 808 Pureview
(1.4 In Full Resolution) And In Mode Pureview 3.07 (8MP), 3.91 (5MP) And 4.89 (3MP)
DPI: Honami (
72) Vs 808 Pureview (
300)
Flash: Honami (
LED) Vs 808 Pureview (
Xenon 3rd Generation)
ISP: Honami (
Sony Bionz) Vs 808 Pureview (
Broadcom/Nokia Pureview)
P.S: There is still a long way to go for something that appears better than the 808 Pureview, my guess is that Honami maximum offer better results than the 1020 !
The only ones Sony lightweight and compact devices that offer the best photographic results that the 808 Pureview, they call RX100 and RX100 II !!![ This Message was edited by: Sonysta on 2013-08-15 08:15 ]

@sonysta
I don't think anybody even mentioned about 808(let alone say that i1 will match/beat it), we are only discussing 1020 vs i1.

You're always overreacting Sonysta

and needles to say, wider angle lens doesn't mean better image quality

Randomuser...
Razec previously stated that Honami would be better than the 808 Pureview, something totally unrealistic !
For best calculations algorithms that are applied in camera Honami, such a feat is impossible and the reasons we all know !
But I agree with you and most !
1020 has a camera disappointing and Honami has everything to offer the best photographic results that the Windows Phone Nokia !

what happened to your original account anyway?
I'm hoping some lowlight picture samples will leak that was taken with the more recent software for honami. So far I think it's safe to assume that daylight pics are of good quality already

since the sample is very promising in terms of IQ.
