so according to 1st post g705 is only uiq handset to be announced in sept...............so finally no high end walkman/p phone in this year!!!!!!!!!!

No, it says.

"September is looking like the next product announcement and this announcement will witness the last SE UIQ device and possibly the G705".

So it mentions two devices not one

Although, I still don't have a date for this annoucement. Any industry events in September?

Might be abit OT, but I just read here:

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i8510_innov8-review-269p2.php

'Last September the major cellphone manufacturers Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG all agreed to start using the microUSB port as a common connectivity port. So far only Nokia has made some steps in that direction. Now Samsung seems to follow suit. The new Samsung microUSB port is used for both charging and data connections.'

It seems true as well. Sony Ericsson have 2 phones now (if I recall correctly) which use mini USB- The Xperia X1, and the J132. You know what else? Both of those handsets therefore use 3.5mm Jacks, something alot of people here have been longing for in SE handsets. Well, it looks like we will be seeing more of this then

Why does so many people want UIQ in their phones. UIQ was good, but afaik UIQ is DEAD. I rarely hope that SE wont use it in any future phone. The should aim fore Google Android or Linux.

You're funny...
Nothing finally indicates UIQ is dead.
And, as for Google or Linux, they're either still in some beta stage or are not really polished.
And who knows what Google really does?
So there's no case...
