I believe someone in this forum said they had pre-ordered a P990 from an online store and that it was supposed to be in stock today, May 22. I just wanted to get an update on what that store says now. Thanks.

@chriswg52

as Masseur said, mobileshop.co.uk have now changed the release date forecast to 1st June. Play.com and mobileshop.co.uk have changed their dates many times now. It is also strange that CPW still quote May release on their web site. I think end of June seems more realistic then 1st June to me given that SE have not said that the P990 will not be available in Q2 yet.

I pre-ordered my P990 last week and got an unconfirmed delivery date of May 30th. The new - still unconfirmed - delivery date is now August 15th. Arghhhh...

(My P910i is still working like a charm, though.)

This is the translation of the danish article

Quote:That is a country boss of Sony Ericsson in Denmark, Kenneth Møller, who offered the depressing news on Monday to Mobil.nu. - The Launching of P990 has moved with a month since July to August, it says from Kenneth Møller, who adds that the model now according to Sony Ericsson isn't further expected......

It's coming out everywhere that the p990i is really buggy still, have in fact heard it from a few people in the know. So I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back. However, i don't see how the m600i can be ready for release and have such stable software, and the p990i not. This must be a hardware issue they've still not sorted out?

Either way, I'm happy with the m600i and i doubt i'll switch even when the p990i comes out... How many will opt for the m600i when it hits the shops? Assuming it does well before the p990i?

Daz.

I never really considered the m600 but now I actually am. Not excatly sure if Vodafone is taking it on though... But who knows I have a few phones to upgrade so I might get one and then the P990 when it does finally arrive

I think if the P990 gets delayed to Q3 then I may get a black M600i to keep me going for two months. All the posts here and at mobile-review suggest the earliest availability is probably mid to late July.

Daz - can you get any black M600s?
