The update yesterday was to the M$ servers and XBLA data on them... We don't get the update for a month or so i believe. There was no dashboard update download thingy yesterday!

No, the downtime was so that they could do backend work, we, the consumers won't notice anything.
They were just prepping their servers for the update....my guess is updating them and beefing them up a bit.

The new Dashboard System will be released worldwide on Nov19th... So i guess we can expect XBL to be down on that date then as 90% of xbox owners all try to download it at once lol!
