I am starting to get the feeling Sony deliberately make sure there camera phones aren't perfect so they don't steal sales from there camera division.

TBH, even their dedicated cameras have bad image processing, they are by far the most aggressive out there, NEX/Alpha users have been complaining about this for a long time (Cybershot users usually don't give a **** ) and they only improved recently for their latest models ( A7/A7r ). Hopefully, it will get better in the near future, since they sorted this issue in other models, all they have to do now is port it to Xperia. And RAW imaging in Android could be another way to solve it, as it can allow any third party to implement different processing and have new camera apps that make better use of the sensor (even without post processing on the computer). This feature will soon come to Android.

This have 20.7 mb camera and new ui. Android 4.3 .it crash all the time. I don't no if I go to model number it does show a long number but if I Chen through service info it says D6503.

The first set of pictures are not the Z2/2014 flagship. Afaik it is the Z1 for VZW. MSM8974AB, 2GB, 32GB.
Not sure about the purple back, could be from Canopus, which also isn't the Z2.
