Well both the G700 and G900 are no longer on the Sony Ericsson UK website! So I think that sums it up, very rare phones. I'm half thinking of swapping to a Nokia 6220 Classic, it has a better camera, runs faster and has much more games available for it. But then I loose the touch screen and Tom Tom won't run on it, but then again Route 66 does.
I just don't know anymore..... swings and roundabouts.
How much faster is the latest firmware over the UK Custom one? Is it much faster? Is the scrolling through your photos faster?

I changed my UK firmware to the latest world firmware and couldnt believe the difference. It is seriously faster. I was hoping it would sort out the wrong calender alarm problem but no joy. This is a basic phone function that works properly on all pervious SE handests. SE UK Technical are absolutely useless and the phone is not fit for purpose.

Thanks for the reply buddy. Hmmm, I will have to definitely look into this then.

the ringtone volume is different from the alarm volume. adjust the volume according to your needs.

hm... when in standby, press the +/- button, and adjust call volume to 0, message to 0, and leave alarm as you like.

don't set to silent mode, just adjust the volume. this is just a workaround.

Is there a 3rd party app for the alarm..the g900 is irritating cause 1)the alarm doesn't ring if the phone is on silent 2)the alarm doesn't ring if the phone is off...the former is more important as I don't want to wakeup everytime someone calls or sends a sms...but for god sakes the alarm should sound.
What about pressing the volume buttons, leave the alarm progress bar intact or increase to your desired level, decrease the volume on ringtone and message alerts to 0, and voila. That wasn't hard now, was it?

Has anyone else with UK firmware performed the CDA change and then moved to the latest world firmware (R9N002) and had problems with the LCD screen going extremely dim randomly? The phone was ok for 7 days but it seems to do this at least once a day. The colours go funny as well being dim the resolution seems to be worse. The touchscreen reacts really slowly and the only way to sort is to turn the phone off or if that doesnt work pull the battery out. The first time this occured i had left the phone in the door pocket of my car overnight and it was about -2C outside. Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts? is it a dodgy LCD or is it the firmware?

Can we not use the camera settings of C902 for our G900? Settings are just text files and we can compare it to existing G900 camera settings and make adjustments to it. Just thinking on how to improve the camera output.
