its difficult to see from photos and video for sure. doesn't help that he can't even figure out which is which in the dark I agree with your comment about Z having a more blue hue than Z1. I think the Z1 shows better photos according to those stills.. but hey that's me. It's difficult to tell without looking at them with the naked eye though.

That said, screen problems can happen. could just be a fluke that's been blown out of proportion due to all the screen lottery discussions before launch..

hopefully he will be happy with the first new one he gets.

the Z is clearly on the bottom, not the Z1 as stated.. so im not sure he can figure out whats going on there regardless.

Isn't the phone sold at T-Mobile is SIM Locked? If I end up buying C6906 without contract can I still use that phone on AT&T without issues, just by swapping SIM Card? Also, since the US Store will sell C6902 on their site unlocked, I expect the same story will repeat, and I mean the phone getting launched 2 months later starting from today!

I rather skip all this none sense and just get the C6903 from Handtec, at least it supports T-mobile LTE and 1700 LTE band for AT&T which is available in my city. am honestly fine with HSPA+ speed, LTE would be nice to have but I wouldn't cry over it

Placed my order, hopefully get it by this weekend. *Feeling excited* I will keep you guys posted

Z1 update:

After much charging, account setting up and app downloading, I am good to go.

Will start using it today - just waiting on my old number going over to EE from Orange.

First thoughts... seems very fast, sturdy, has a nice feel. Screen is a lot bigger than my old Xperia T.

Back up and restore doesn't work due to software version conflict, you have to use Xperia Transfer via PC companion.

Presume I have an EE firmware version, would like to change to generic, but probably a little early to do this.

Lots of camera modes, not really played with that yet.

If there are any questions in particular, give me a shout...

^glad you're enjoying your Z1.

if you could give us your impressions on the most important discussion points in this thread so far:

1) screen color/contrast/viewing angles
2) camera image quality (after you've tried it)
3) speaker volume and quality (both earpiece and external)

Thanks!

How is the screen? Ordered my z1 last week, but am not too happy with all the "negative"
Reviews. Hope the screen of the retail version is better...

Could you post some pics in which you show the status LED... can it be seen form behind also?
