@ihe: Struggling & sweating are not the same as being intellectually smart. People can use their muscles a lot & not use their heads much. @alfaromeo777: I really have no facts on your question, but I do see quite some ads in the dailies touting shopping/selling on ebay.

@ihe: Has it occurred to you that the reason many stay poor is that they do not harness the creative potentials in themselves? The average poor person who wants to do business starts selling what everyone else on that very street is already selling. That is no being smart. They may not be poor by choice, but many times, they stay poor by ommission. A little exercise of the head would yield better results, IMHO.

@Aya,this carpenter's son doesn't intend 2 stay poor.Thtz why he exercised his head & took to brick laying wch is d creative potential in him.He didnt squander his money,he spent it traing his sister.I think you insult his intelligence.

@ihe: Good. This guy is not a pix of d majority then, bcos d majority spend their scarce funds on owambe, beer, women, aso-ebi & d sort, rather than invest in their future & d lives of others. D example u have given represents d minority. D state of our society 2day is proof enough. Apologies to dis carpenter's son, but dat doesn't blow a hole in my assertion dat d majority don't think productively.

@Aya,ths man represents d common man in ur street(ur Dad)who in d face of harsh conditions successfully walkd out of poverty whn lucky & when not lucky remain poor in d same street.Re-examine ur assertions less u b accused of ingratitude.

@ihe: I do not believe in luck. I believe that both opportunities & troubles come to every man. God gives rain & sunshine to both good & evil men. Some are prepared & so use opportunities to move forward. Others are not (or do not recognise these opportunities) & so stay down. Some let troubles keep them down; others use them as stepping stones.
