Quote: You are forgetting that wifi can be much cheaper than 3G on a volume basis

that is history my friend: for instance, right now in portugal companys are offering broadband internet via 3G, competing with normal cable and adsl offerings

and the prices are the same or inferior...

imagine someone that subscrived a one of this services...he can use internet via 3g at home, on his pc, on is laptop, or in is phone, all for the same flat rate every month

of course, for people like this, wifi won´t be missed...because 3G is becoming an alternative option

exactly Arez. Even here in australia 3g data caps aren't far off. That's unlimited broadband wireless for a fixed price per month. The data caps will be similar to broadband adsl or cable unlimited plans.

Regarding speed of wifi well obviously it's faster no one is arguing that - but unless you have a very fast internet connection then 3G is roughly as fast as decent broadband (256Kbit or higher). wifi is 50Mbits per second, and I don't know of anywhere but in Korea where 50Mbit internet speeds are available.

So it's a bit of a laugh to say that wifi is "faster" than 3g when you are only talking about internet. Now when it comes to using the device to copy masses of audio files to your 2GB micro MS card via the wifi network, well yes the wifi speed would be useful. I don't know anyone who will be rushing out to buy a M600 AND a 2GB micro MS though

Hi friends,

Just want to say that the M600 is a great device...aimed exclusively for the email use (and voice of courrse). The lack of wifi and cam is a trade of for size and believe me this mobile is a beauty. I had the opportunity to play around a little with a prototype before Christmas it really has kind of an Ipod feel over it.

Guys, I dont think the m600 or it future release will ever have a camera or wifi in it...there needs to be something to distingish between the M series and the P series. For a coparate users the M series makes sense, no camera, sure Wifi would have been nice, but then if the M600 has both Wifi and a camara, in a smaller form factor, why would anyone want to buy the p series. The reason why the m600 looks so much like a blackberrry is because the blackberry is the leader of that sector, it is much easier to copy a winning formula then to be all inventive and create a new design. Users are use to that form factor, its hard to convince
people to change devices epecailly when it looks so different.

I still think the P series will be SE flag ship model, in commercial terms...while the M series, will be going for the corporate market and that is it...SE is not aiming this device at the majority of users.....

hmmm maybe. If it has more appeal outside of the push email market, or if the push email market radically increases in size maybe, but if not, I predict the P990 will sell the same or better than the M600.
