Hi guys,
not sure if any of you have tried it with a laptop?
i have to say the sound quality sux!! the bass sounds muffled and this is with equaliser set to virtually no bass in windows media player.
This is probably because your PC is does not support the A2DP profile for music streaming. You are getting only mono sound quality.
hi sapporobaby,
thanks for your reply.
my laptop bluetooth stack definitely support a2dp. it's a widcomm stack version 4.1.
i'm able to get the sound through ok from a stereo perspective. it's just that i think the bass on ds970 is way overkill. even with minimum to no bass set on WMP i'm getting quite a lot of bass in my headset. don't get me wrong i love bass that's one of the reason why i bought this headset but when the bass are not transfered correctly it just sound muffled.
anyway, judging from your comment i take it u have no problems with a2dp with laptop.
u think a firmware update for ds970 will help?
Hi kahiro,
I have the same bluetooth hardware as you, I think, I also use WMP. Does WMP transfer the song title to your headset? If yes do I have to use some plugin for that / What version of WMP are you using?
About the firmware, the first line on the back on my headset says XRY XXX XXX/X
R1A
Isnt that the firmware?

About the same. You pay for what you get. It is a BT device that is always in transmit and receive mode when being utilized so, about 4 or so hours is normal. Just the way it goes. Besides, SE will have something new in a few weeks to months anyway, and I will dump my HBH-DS970 for that one so I am not really concerned either way.

Hi
I'm using WMP11. Unfortunately the track title do not get transfered to headset. AVRCP works though.
btw, for some strange reason i'm able to get perfect sound from laptop after pairing with M600i ... weird ... but not complaining

It is pretty much tangle free, but it sort of twists to the right a bit, but a very nice headset.

a) I think this is on purpose because of the volume lawsuit that Apple went through.
b) M600i ( I have one, P990 ( I think), k800i)
c) Not designed to.

is it possible to check the firmware version on ds970?
You can check it from the phone. The number printed on the back of the headset is the hardware revision, not the firmware. Here's how to check the firmware:
With the headset connected to the phone, go to the menu>settings>connectivity>accessories>then select the DS970
My firmware is R2B and hardware is R2A
