We've got a VS3 and a VS6 and it's hard to tell the difference between 262,144 colours and the 16.8 million colours on the Panasonic!

I'm sure 24bit screens will come en masse, but they will only make a difference when phones have a minimum of VGA resolution (which is coming, if you look at the new Vodafone/Sharp phone).

@ Xugaa - im sure the battery will need charging daily like most phones these days, if not every 2 days.

As for your dads Motorola, it sounds like he had a defective battery unless it was in use constantly.

Yours says:

Talk time 150 minutes

Mine says:
Standby time 340 hour
Talk time 7.50 h

whats more believable?

i think the difference between the two talk/standby times is that the shorter times are for UMTS mode, while the longer ones are for standard GSM. if you take a look at the M600 spec sheet on the SE site, the times are similar if not the same as the ones you listed for the two modes.

screen resolution is the same as the W900, but screen size is 2.5 inches. i believe the W900 has a 2.2 inch screen.

thanks etaab

since the m600 has a much greater standby time than the w950, does that mean it had a better battery, or is not as complex?

One major thing that Etaab forgot - although all his accounts are accurate regarding power usuage - is the 4GB of FLash memory which when off doesnt need a charge to keep the memory but ALL the memory is like one circuit which power will run through .... remember that the Symbian OS 9.1a, regular phone usuage like SMS/MMS/Call Log/etc is there JUST like the "Real Time" system calls that the new OS is running. Sure the full OS isnt in use if your just running your music .... but the ability to be fast & responsive when an incoming call comes in - which btw you are able to tell the phone to deny all calls or just from a group, Standard SE Affair - or when you tap the screen should be incredibly fast & responsive.

You wanted BIG memory well battery live is the cost.

VERY cool videos of the W950 here:

so cool how the orange buttons above the keypad appear/diappear when you turn the walkman player on/off.
