I had a strange issue with my K800i last night. I was in a bar and I'd just taken some pictures and sent one to my blog. I locked the phone and put it in my pocket.
A few minutes later I received a text. I felt the vibration go (didn't hear any sound, but it was loud in the bar) and took the phone out and I couldn't 'wake' it up. No matter what button I pressed the screen stayed dark. Only by opening and closing the camera shutter did it respond again!
Anyone else had this?
i've had this, you mean the screen dont turn on or respond when you bash the keys... i've had this quite a few times in bars and stuff... the way to get past it is to press the key unlock code, it will seem like it aint doing anything but it will work and should unlock the keypad and the phone will come back to life..
Annoying at times but meh

@mwarner
i was in the impression that this thread is for EU FW only thats why i didnt bother to suggest to put it in the first post. but since it is now proven that it is a bug, then i want to thank you for including it in the first post.
cheers!

Wow, I'm surprised at all the bugs related to the K790/K800 firmware... now I'm going to have to think twice about buying this phone.

most are fairly minor bugs. Mine doesnt have any. Buy the phone, you wont be dissapointed. Any bugs will be fixed via firmware updates....

I have a k790i.
Firmware version is different. Its R1CC003. Rest of everything is same like update service software version, camera version, etc.
The bugs are also the same as k800i.
However i noptice some new thing. My shortcuts (joystick) switches back to default locations after restart (sometimes). This only happens with the last shortcut i have assigned.
Eg if i assign right joystick press to games, after restarting or after some time, it switches back to its default location.

Ah I see. Well, it's just those little things that are important to me... but I guess hopefully in future updates these problems will be fixed. So current owners of the K800/790 series, is the phone well worth its money? Hope it is, because I'm really interested in this nice phone. (the display!)
And BTW, take a look at the review at
http://www.mobique.com/. Is it true that the build quality of the K800/K790 is like that? ie. the earphone grill and screen display are unaligned.
