@Osmano
let it charge as you need a full battery for the upgrade. Why don't you download the SE Update Service s/w while you wait?

Thanks Jah! I will do that. For how long should I charge the first time and where do I find the upgrade s/w? The shop said 12 hours.

Hmmm strange, just did the re-flash and for some odd reason it took a very long time but i dont think it completed as when i looked at my laptop screen...the update had gone back to the beginning and was asking me if i wanted to start the update again...????
Going to try again, just hope the phone isnt messed up.

@Osmano
I usually charge my new batteries for 6-8 hours (overnight) but for the K800 it says you only need a 2.5hr charge. I think as long as the charge reaches 100% it should be okay to use the battery.

No i didnt Jah but it seems to have finished the re-flash. Re-started the phone and checked the shortcut problem i was having and it seems to have gone away which is good.
Is it worth doing a master reset do you think??...was thinking of doing one before i restore my phone back to the way it was before the re-flash..

No need to do a master reset. Try the trick with running the demo video, then pausing it, and then go and select a few menus and see if performance improves - did you hear about this one? Seems video uses graphics acceleration which can speed-up the UI. i've deleted my videos (!) so can't try at work at the moment.

Hmmm very interesting Jah, thanks for that tip...must have missed it earlier. I tried it and it seems like the UI is slightly faster although on the demo video if you pause it, the video and sound is out of synch...again dont know if thats a bug or something but yes seems to have made the menus slightly faster.
Right well time to restore the phone back to the way i like it set up.

You don't need fully charged battery to update the p990. I did my upgrade with about 40-50% battery from the beginning...
Since it charges with the USB it was at about 60-70 when finished I think.
