> Nokia N73 vs SE K800i which is better?
Bookmark topic
@Mano Khan- the J-SH04 made by Sharp corporation back in november 2000 was the first camera phone. Granted, between Nokia and SE symbian is the former's domain but still nokia didn't come up with the first camera phone before Ericsson. Fair enough they went a step further by integrating the camera into the phone but the t68 had a plug in camera back in 2001. As for the memory quick that's Sony invention.

yep, that's right!! cheaper as well... not like the bloody overprice N73 right? ehehhe
Why wouldnt it be more expensive? It has a bigger screen, HTML browsing, S60(new version), 3G and EDGE both, not like SE where edge and 3G are on different version of phones. It also has better video recording.
Tell me, why wouldnt it be expensive?

QVGA... there are reasons why it will be expensive. As you said that it has EDGE, Symbian S60.. i am really really skeptical about the "features" that you are talking about. First of all.. the EDGE itself. Why would you need EDGE? if you have 3G? Do you really need them? What is the phone mean for you? browse internet (why not computer? its alot cheaper, and faster as well) are you the sort of person who are sooo busy that you must travel everywhere and thus you have no access to internet? How many ppl are like that?
Second, S60. I have N70 before. That is Symbian S60. What do i use that for? Edit microsoft word? yea.. that's what i thought at first.. then i use it once. Guess what? i think that's a waste of time. The keypad really doesn't support me to be able to input the text as quick as the standard qwerty keyboard (the same of course goes for N73, so technically you DO NOT REALLY NEED that). I also found that i can type alot faster even with my K750 keypad. It is even faster if i simply write down my work. So, what's the point of having symbian S60?
You are into business man, you need calendar.. so? K800 has that as well, i use K750 for calendar though. I found that it is alot easier to use with sony ericsson phones than Nokia. Look, this is happens because i am so used to with K750 calendar (so you might not want to take this as a real point.. hehe.. im just being fair here).
If you are talking about video recording.. yes, K800 is really hopeless. So, that's ok, its not the end of my life for not having a 352X288 video recorder. right? in fact, the camera in K800 is very very very very useful (i use it to take picture of the document that i can't be bother to photocopy it). With K750 and K800 in my pocket i actually can handle everything that i need to do my course ^___^, which N70 doesn't.
At least i must say that K800 has a pretty decent video playback and i am very happy with it (I use it as an Ipod video, and i use K750 as an Ipod).
So, i pay for what i need and what i use and what i got.
If i buy N73... If i connect to 3G. Do i need EDGE? why do i have to pay for it? it is INDEED a waste of money. Thats why it is more expensive for me.
And as i explain to u, after i had N70, then i realise that i don't need symbian, do i need to pay for it? No.
and regarding the bigger screen.. i think K800 is enough, and i found that it has the same size as D600. Its not too bad. So, no probs.
last but not least. If i have a video recorder that might be fantastic, although i might not really use it that often. perhaps that's one and only point that gives me reason why i should go for N73. In the end of the day, you might find that N73 really really overprice (you pay for sthing you do not need, for the sake of feature wise only..).
Btw, here in australia if you have K800, you need to pay 18X24 on contract, and that makes it 432. N73 is 22X24 and that is 528. that is like 96 dolars different in price. That's quite a lot for me, just for the sake of video recording isn't it? i know, that there is no video recording device to be sell at that price. But, it is better to save my money ^__^.

EDGE and 3G SHOULD be in one phone. For example, where i live, i got EDGE but no 3G. I enjoy EDGE. But from what i've heard, within the next year 3G will be introduced, so if i want to use it, i dont need to sell my phone, i can use it in my current one. And then if i find out that 3G doesnt suit me, or if its too expensive, i can switch back to EDGE without having to change my phone for the second time.

now, i ask, how many ppl are in your condition? i mean, so desperately need both feature? well.. as far as i can say, that's ur problem, not mine. Australia already have 3G, so i go for 3G. Even if i switch to 2G network. Why the hell i need EDGE? i dun even do video calling.. i browse internet using my computer.
So, u cannot force ppl to buy phone that has EDGE and 3G in one phone. You cannot even force me.. i dun need EDGE!! that's a fact. It might not be a waste of money for you, but it is a waste of money for me.. everyone has different need. Btw, there is almost no different in feature btw 3G and 2G if you only mainly use ur phone to make a call, both of them does their job very very well. I have K750.. that's my 2G, and K800 for my 3G. Perfect! no nokia and i am happy. (jus kidding, im not that offensive to nokia lar.. N95 is super damm good.. and i admit it, even N73). It just that some ppl here do make some funny comment, so i just add a bit more ^___^

@Mano- 6600 is 2003 while the p800 with those exact same features (vga camera, symbian and memory stick) you mentioned is 2002. That clearly puts the p800 ahead of the 6600.

And how many SMS can be stored in the inbox of K800? 200? Not nearly enough. What were SE thinking limiting the inbox space to 200SMS in the K750. I am not sure if K800 has the same problem.
