Close-up of a hologram. (Not the best result. I had spot metering on by mistake so the paper is overexposed.)

Metering is the measurement of light in the scene you're shooting, for calculating automatic exposure. The i-mobile 902, like any *good* camera, provides three types: Matrix, Center and Spot. Read
this page at DPReview.com for an explanation of the types.
. . .
Here's a slightly better version of the hologram photo:

I'm torn between a i-mobile 902 and a SE k810i. I realize the 902 has a fantastic camera and that is what I want most in my next phone, but how is the user interface and quality of the phone? The 810 feels great and has a nice setup, but since these two phones are about the same price, I'm not sure which to get.

If you want a good camera and do not care about the quality of the phone then I recommend the 902. Actually, the 902 is not a bad phone, although texting can be very tedious on it. And I miss flight mode.
If you like the actual phone to be top quality then you should pick the K810i instead.
Also keep in mind that the 902 is not covered by any warranty if you import it yourself. And this is not comforting since the phone has quality issues.
